The Val Nambino route starts in the centre of Madonna di Campiglio. In a short time, with only a modest difference in altitude, you will reach the fascinating basin that is home to Lake Nambino and Rifugio Nambino.
It's no coincidence that this is one of the most popular destinations in the Madonna di Campiglio area. Although accessible on foot from the village, Val Nambino is completely surrounded by pristine, untouched nature. It is renowned for its cosy mountain hut and the beautiful lake that reflects its image.
The serene waters of Lake Nambino are shrouded in a legendary tale of mystery and magic that has been passed down through the generations. In ancient times, it is said that a mighty dragon lived quietly and secluded in the depths of the lake. It would rest at the bottom for long periods, feeding on algae and fish, and would occasionally emerge to bask in the sun's warmth on the surrounding rocks… If you would like to find out more, take a break at the mountain hut and admire the dragon fresco on the walls.
The lake is surrounded by meadows and peaks: it is the ideal place to relax, fish, do yoga or simply enjoy the rejuvenating peace of nature and water.
