The excursion in Val Rendena offers the opportunity to discover its small parish churches, from Verdesina to Madonna di Campiglio, immersed in a landscape of rare beauty, the result of the harmonious interplay between nature and human endeavour.
Rich in water and woods, Val Rendena is dominated by the majestic encounter between the peaks of the Brenta Dolomites, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the Adamello-Presanella glaciers.
In just 25 km, you can go from the heights of Madonna di Campiglio (1,550 m) to the gentle pastures of medium altitude and the 600 m of Verdesina.
The environment is characterised by deep green woods and secular forests that descend from the mountain slopes, rich in waterfalls and alpine lakes, to the valley floor and its small villages, true hidden treasures of alpine, religious and popular culture, all surrounded by the Adamello Brenta Nature Park.
Numerous side valleys branch off from Val Rendena: Valle di San Valentino with its meadows, alpine pastures and mountain huts; Val di Borzago, which leads to Carè Alto and the mountain fortresses from the First World War, as well as to the lakes of San Giuliano and Garzonè; Val Genova with its numerous waterfalls; Val Nambrone with its wild and romantic landscape; Vallesinella with its karst waterfalls and Val Brenta, the gateway to the Dolomites.
Continue your journey on La Via delle Valli, where you can choose to explore any of the 50 proposed valleys. Find out more at: www.campigliodolomiti.it/laviadellevalli.
You will find signs and stamps in the valleys from July 2025.
THE NEIGHBOURING VALLEYS:
Val Rendena and Valle del Chiese form the backbone of La Via delle Valli. Heading south, you pass through the Giudicarie Centrali and enter Valle del Chiese.
The flanks of Val Rendena are lined with many side valleys that, like a fishbone, run at right angles and go deep into the Adamello-Presanella and Brenta Dolomite mountain groups which border it.
