Despite its length, this is an easy walk through dense beech and fir woods, picturesque waterfalls and clear streams suspended over small bridges in a fairytale setting.
Vallesinella is famous for its picturesque waterfalls and crystal-clear streams.
The route follows the “Sentiero dell’Orso” (Bear Trail) through dense beech and fir woods, featuring hanging bridges and simple ladders.
Although it is an easy path with little difference in altitude, it is quite long and leads from Madonna di Campiglio Sud to Malga Vallesinella (1,681 m), which is now abandoned. The route then continues past Cascate Alte, Rifugio Vallesinella and Rifugio Cascate di Mezzo (1,398 m) and then loops back.
The total walking time can easily be divided into shorter sections, interspersed with pleasant restorative breaks in one of the many mountain huts dotted around the valley.
During the summer months, a shuttle bus service runs through the valley, making it easy to reach Rifugio Vallesinella and set off to explore the waterfalls. This is a very pleasant excursion, suitable for families with children.
Continue your journey on La Via delle Valli, where you can choose to explore any of the 50 proposed valleys. Find out more at: www.campigliodolomiti.it/laviadellevalli.
You will find signs and stamps in the valleys from July 2025.
THE NEIGHBOURING VALLEYS:
From Vallesinella you can reach Val Brenta in two different ways:
- From Cascate di Mezzo follow the Dolomiti Brenta Trek bike route to Malga Brenta Bassa and then continue on to Malga Brenta Alta. This is the easiest route.
- From the Vallesinella restaurant or the Cascate Alte di Vallesinella, follow the signs for Rifugio Casinei. From there, you can reach Malga Brenta Alta, in Val Brenta, by taking the Violi path. This route is not difficult, but it has rocky sections in exposed areas that can be slippery after rain (signpost 391). This route is more challenging due to its exposure.
From Vallesinella, you can also reach Valagola by following the path that leads from Cascata di Mezzo to Cascata di Sotto. From there, you will reach the entrance to Valagola via Pian delle Bore.
