Scenic hike of medium difficulty through the unspoiled landscapes of Valle di San Valentino, Valle Dosson, and Valletta Alta.
Valletta Alta is the valley connecting Valle di San Valentino to the homonymous pass, crossing Valle Dosson. A challenging trek among waterfalls, lakes, and alpine rivers. Access to Valle di San Valentino is characterized by meadows, mountain huts, wooden cabins, and ancient stone paths leading to the edge of the forest and then entering the realm of water.
Among waterfalls, incredible views of Carè Alto, and streams emerging from underground flowing over granite slabs to offer very special water plays, you reach the scenic alpine lake of Valletta Alta.
A charming and remote place, Valletta Alta, if traveled in its entirety, leads to Passo di San Valentino (2765 m), where remains of Austrian fortifications stand, the oldest pass between Val Rendena and Val di Fumo.
