Above Carisolo, in the middle of the Middle Ages, a hermitage was born, still visible today thanks to its white walls and bright red roof: San Martino.
Its first documented records date back to 1312, but it was in 1485 that the Bergamo hermit Baldessarre de Pluzana, obtained permission from the Trentino Prince-Bishop Giovanni Hinderbach, helped by the offerings of the communities of Rendenar, built the church to live there permanently. Today the hermitage is a sober quadrangular building, where you can find some benches for prayer and a small altar, above which there is a painting depicting San Martino.
