The 16th-century separating fountain channeled the water to bring it to the fountains.
At the beginning of the 16th century, the water that flowed from springs located upstream of the town was channelled through ingenious and resistant systems that divided its flow towards the houses or fountains of the town. These water-splitting systems, ancestors of modern piping, were made using either wooden gutters or stronger “separator fountains” in hand-worked granite. Over time, of course, they were replaced by more suitable piping systems, but one of these ancient Rhenish "gutters" has been saved and preserved as a real monument. It is the separating fountain or "duct" visible outside the Cassa Rurale. This ancient element (apparently built in the early sixteenth century) was originally located in "La Val" and supplied the four ancient fountains of Caderzone, before being decommissioned and moved to Strembo.
