If it's true that history is a blend of nature and culture, then this historic nature park, the scene of conflicts and clashes from the Unification of Italy to WWI, is a site to be preserved at all costs.
The Park is in the heart of Valle d’Ampola (Storo), between Valle del Chiese and Valle di Ledro, where Lake Ampola gleams like a great mirror. A recent redevelopment project has seen it open up to the public, with guided tours and unguided visits, workshops and walks, inside the Park — which is part of the UNESCO-designated Ledro Alps and Judicaria Biosphere Reserve — and inside the WWI and Unification Museum. You will cross a landscape dotted with ruins and relics that stand testament to the passage of time, heightening your awareness of the simultaneous absence and presence of those who went before you.
