Malga Tonolo: an authentic corner of Trentino
At 1424 meters, surrounded by silent forests and pastures that taste of freedom, Malga Tonolo is a place where the mountain shows its most sincere face. This mountain hut tells a story of tradition, work and a deep bond with the land. A single, solid stone structure houses the house and the stable. Renovated between 2009 and 2010 by the Municipality of Storo, the hut is prepared for the dairy, keeping alive the art of making cheese in the pastures. This area has always been grassy, suitable for pasture and hay-making. Old barns dot the landscape, silent witnesses of past seasons and knowledge handed down with respect. Not far away, a clear spring quenches the cattle's thirst and accompanies the slow pace of life at altitude.
STRENGTH:
A high-altitude dairy where the tradition of malga cheese is preserved, in a still intact and authentic context.
