The association ‘Il Chiese’ and the B.I.M Consortium organise treks to discover the works located within the villages of the Valle del Chiese. By travelling through the valley in stages, you can learn interesting information about the culture and history of the area. There is a dedicated event for each village.
A small alpine lake and a village inextricably linked to the mountain pastures. A walk around Lake Roncone will allow you to discover its rich history and a future with a touch of Scotland, as well as to appreciate its unique characteristics and natural treasures. Leaving the tranquil alpine waters behind, you’ll climb up to the church of Santo Stefano, where art lovers can admire its organ and the exquisite wooden carvings by local woodcarver Giovan Battista Polana. The walk will end as you immerse yourself in the charming simplicity of the old town centre, rediscovering all the hustle and bustle of a small mountain village.
At the end of the walk, there will be an opportunity to sample polenta and many other typical local produce at the ‘Mondo Contadino’ event, organised near Lake Roncone, the starting point of the excursion.
