Beautiful tour in the Valle del Chiese, with wonderful views over Lake Idro.
The path begins above the village of Brione, from an altitude that may vary depending on snow conditions. Follow the road or cut across slopes to reach an aqueduct at an altitude of 1,550 m, either directly on skis or by driving as far uphill as possible.
Follow the clearly visible track entering the woods, and coming out right below the Dos di Laven. From there, you have three options.
The first - the shortest and most immediate - is to climb directly up the SSE ridge to reach Cima Laven, and then continuing along the ridge to Cima Rive, and finally returning along the same path.
The second option is a loop route that circumvents the Dos di Laven at its foot, and, near Malga Serollo, it climbs up the NW ridge of Cima Rive. After reaching the summit, it continues along the ridge to the Dos di Laven and exits along the SSE ridge.
The third route - the most rewarding - climbs to Dos di Laven along the SSE ridge, descends along the W slope, and, near Malga Serollo, climbs up again to Cima Rive along the NE ridge, traverses Dos di Laven at altitude, and descends along the SSE ridge.
Regardless of the option chosen, for the final part returning to the valley you can either follow the same ascent path through the woods, and come down from the E slope, just beyond the base of the SSE ridge of the Dos di Laven, which leads directly to the aqueduct.
Above the village of Brione: the starting point may vary depending on snow conditions on the road (see map).
