Beautiful route in Valle del Chiese, with stunning views of Lake Idro.
The route starts above the village of Brione, from an altitude that may vary depending on snow conditions. Following the road or cutting through slopes, you reach an aqueduct at 1550 m, either directly with skis or by driving the car further uphill as far as possible.
Following a clear trail, you enter the forest to emerge just below Dos di Laven. From here, three options open up. The first, the shortest and most direct, climbs directly the SSE ridge to reach Cima Laven, continues along the ridge to Cima Rive, then returns by the same line.
The second, a loop route, instead bypasses Dos di Laven at its base and near Malga Serollo climbs the NW ridge of Cima Rive. Once at the summit, it continues along the ridge to Dos di Laven and descends along the SSE ridge. The third, the most rewarding, climbs Dos di Laven via the SSE ridge, descends the west side near Malga Serollo, then climbs again to Cima Rive via the NE ridge, traverses at altitude, Dos di Laven and descends via the SSE ridge.
Regardless of the option chosen, the final part back down to the valley can follow the same initial uphill line through the forest or descend the east side just beyond the base of the SSE ridge of Dos di Laven, which leads directly near the aqueduct.
Above the village of Brione: the starting point may vary depending on the snow conditions on the road (see map).
