Alpine ski touring route in Valle del Chiese, in a wild and little frequented environment, with beautiful views also over Lake Idro.
The route starts above the town of Brione, at an altitude that may vary depending on snow conditions. Following the road or cutting across slopes, an aqueduct at 1550 m is reached, either directly with skis or by driving a car further up as far as possible.
By obvious track you enter the woods to emerge just below Dos di Laven which is quickly reached by following the obvious SSE ridge. This ascent and related descent (from the W side) is a fun but optional variant. Alternatively, continue bypassing Dos di Laven at its base, heading for Malga Serollo.
Then head W to the obvious saddle on the right of Cima Pissalat (1850 m), over gentle and easy slopes. From here, you can enjoy a spectacular view to the northwest, with Grotta Rossa peak in the distance.
Up to the saddle of Cima Pissalat, the route does not present particular difficulties and is especially suitable for snowshoes as well. Beyond this point, experience, physical and technical preparation are necessary. On the return trip, if with snowshoes, follow the line made uphill in the woods at the foot of Dos di Laven (no descent on the east side).
