Characterized by steep rock walls and unspoiled nature, the valley is crossed by a paved road with a very gentle slope. Suitable for families.
The route starts from the parking lot near the Ampola Waterfall and the Ampola Fort Park, where a small museum exhibits relics from the Great War, telling the story of the 19th-century Austro-Hungarian fort. Just after the park, on the right, is the road that goes into the gorge of the Lorina Valley, a valley with Dantean features, which alternates a very narrow first part with a more open second part.
The initial segment is dominated by steep limestone rock walls, on which it is possible to admire and touch fossil remains of megalodons. Thanks to these marine mollusks, which lived millions of years ago, we can today explore the mountain massifs of Cadria and the Brenta Dolomites. The second stretch of the valley opens into a steep amphitheater, rich in woods and meadow clearings. The gentle slope of the road and the smooth surface make it a suitable excursion for families, even with strollers.
