A pleasant route in a secluded valley reminiscent of the Dolomite landscapes, where the natural and rural landscapes meet in a triumph of colours, scents and flavours.
Panoramic route up the Val di Bondone to Malga Stabol Fess and Malga Avalina. The valley, carved in sedimentary rocks, is reminiscent of the Dolomite landscapes, in stark contrast to the environment of the neighbouring Adamello valleys. The route starts near the hut settlement of Bondone di Sopra, set against a backdrop of wide pastures and cottages. Through meadow glades, it reaches Malga Fraino, located afoot the rocky ledge of 'Cengol dal Sal', linked to ancient legends of elves and dwarves. It continues along several hairpin bends, passing the last forest offshoots to the wide grassy plateau of Malga Stabol Fess, where a vast amphitheatre, frequented by chamois throughout the year, opens up.From the Malga, it crosses the forest road on the northern slope of the Dosso dei Morti, to Malga Avalina, located on a panoramic spot on the north-east ridge of the Dosso. After a stop, the return journey follows the 'Via dei Serbi', traced out at the end of the 19th century by the Austro-Hungarian Empire.
