Very long and demanding stage, which does not let up from the first to the last step: from the granite of Adamello, we move to the limestone of Monte Corona, the first Dolomitic glimpse of the journey. The highlights are Passo del Frate, with its rock gendarme, and the summit of Corona, with its amazing view.
Almost 30 km stage leading to the village of Lardaro.
From the Trivena refuge, descend to 1,232 m at Ponte Pianone, then ascend the Arnò valley following trail 262. The Sentiero della Pace passes Malga Casina Nuova, Malga d'Arnò (1,558 m), Malga Maggiassone (1,718 m), Malga Pozze, and then reaches Passo del Frate (2,248 m), where many remains of military works and the ruins of the cable car that climbed the Arnò valley remain. From Passo del Frate, on crumbly and partly equipped terrain, climb to 2,509 m on Monte Corona. From there, continue along the ridge, gradually losing altitude, crossing in succession Corno Vecchio and Dosso dei Morti (2,183 m), until reaching Malga Avalina (1,975 m). From here, the Sentiero della Pace continues southeast, passing Dosso Brullo (1,760 m). Descending, pass Forte Corno (1,100 m), built between 1883 and 1890, and Forte Larino (723 m), near Lardaro. Accommodation is at one of the hospitality facilities in the Valle del Chiese.
