The medium-difficulty excursion through Valle Stablel takes you off the beaten track in Val Genova. It is a pleasant, secluded walk that is mostly uphill.
Valle Stablel is a side valley in the upper part of Val Genova. The hike begins between Casina Muta and Malga Caret, crossing the River Sarca via a small wooden bridge. The path is rarely used and has no signposts, but is nevertheless clearly visible, except in the final part where high grass and thick branches obscure it, making it difficult to follow. The first part of the route winds through the forest, and it is only just before Baita Stablel that the view opens up to the opposite side of Val Genova.
This is a nature-immersive excursion where silence reigns supreme, making walkers feel, at times, as if they are in the middle of nowhere, especially where the uncultivated, lush vegetation takes over. The passages are pleasant and not technical, with well-maintained ropes and wooden steps. The inevitable section on muddy ground before the hut is quite challenging.
Baita Stablel, the destination of the route, is unfortunately closed. Situated on a beautiful panoramic terrace, it is a wonderful place to stop for a bite to eat and enjoy the surrounding beauty and peace.
