Silvano Bagattini is a winemaker specialising in chilled wine grapes, perfect as a base for sparkling wine. In the 1960s, it was the first to introduce a white grape variety - Riesling - into the valley.
On its 15,000 meters of land, with about 7-8,000 plants, Silvano Bagattini carries on with passion and competence a family tradition pioneered by his father in the early 1960s. The company was in fact the first to introduce the white grape variety in the valley, starting with Riesling and then continuing with Müller-Thurgau. "The quality was good – says Bagattini – and then my family decided to turn to the agronomist of the Lunelli brothers of the Ferrari wineries, asking him to introduce vines for sparkling wine". A member of the Toblino winery for more than 20 years and the first to join the integrated farming system, Bagattini today produces a bio-like wine. "It seemed like a difficult valley because it was narrow - he continues – we have two hours less sunshine than the other valleys, but the product is excellent and refined".
