A reality born in 1890 to face the difficult situation of Trentino families, made of poverty and isolation. Its customers have always found quality products with special attention to origin.
The first Cooperative Family was born in Santa Croce, in the Giudicarie, in 1890 on the initiative of Don Lorenzo Guetti. The population of Trentino, in those years, lived in a difficult situation and to cope with the crisis came Don Guetti's intuition: to unite the townspeople to make them members, so as to buy the goods together and save. This first experience fosters the cooperative spirit throughout Trentino in a few years, until the idea of a "Cooperative of Cooperatives" takes hold. Today SAIT – the Consortium of Consumer Cooperatives of Trentino – organizes the structures for the distribution of products and manages the services for Cooperative Families and for their points of sale.
