Built between 1883 and 1890 on a rocky spur at 1068 metres, it stands above Praso. In good condition, it is joined to the valley-floor fortress by a beautiful war path.
Of the five forts that formed the "Barrier of Lardaro", three remain: Fort Larino, south of Lardaro; Fort Corno, in the territory of Praso Comune di Valdaone; Fort Cariola in the territory of Pieve di Bono. Originally connected by a series of walkways, trenches and tunnels, they formed an impressive defensive system that dominated and controlled the Church Valley from above. Forte Corno has a structure of great value from the point of view of military architecture. It has fifty-four well-preserved rooms, which make up a structure intended to accommodate up to one hundred and sixty soldiers. You can only visit with guided tours without reservation (10 am, 2 pm and 4 pm) or for groups even on call outside the pre-established hours.
