Doss del Sabion: the Temple of Time
At 2,100 m on Doss del Sabion, an open-air themed park dedicated to time, slowness, and discovery comes to life. Here, science, art, and nature come together in an immersive journey through the geological history of the Brenta Dolomites, transforming the landscape into a space for active contemplation.
The very name, Temple of Time, evokes the fusion of Earth’s timescale and human perception. Artistic installations by Marco Nones—such as the “Orogenesi” chaise longues, the “Emozioni al Cubo” platform, and the “Nuvole Basse” benches—encourage meditation and mindful observation of the surrounding scenery.
Among the highlights along the path are seven ammonite-shaped sculptures around a small lake. Each represents a different geological era and invites visitors to explore nature through play: every stop includes quizzes, riddles, and hands-on activities, making the experience both educational and engaging for all ages.
At Prà Rodont, art and nature meet in an open-air creative space. Children (and adults too) can paint with water on stone in the symbolic game The Drawing Is Gone, or take part in Cow Says Color, a collective painting activity inspired by the colors of nature. A simple, creative experience that deeply connects with the alpine environment.
At the heart of the area lies the Doss Alpine Style mountain lodge, the ideal starting and ending point for the experience. Here, guests can enjoy breakfast with a view, gourmet lunches, and snacks that combine authentic local flavors with high-altitude relaxation.
Coming soon at the lodge: the immersive Belvedere Room will complete the Temple of Time experience—a multimedia journey through images, sounds, and stories narrating the origin of the Dolomites, from the birth of the oceans to the formation of the peaks.
Access to the park is free and included in the cable car ticket from Pinzolo to Doss del Sabion. The park is designed for families, hikers, and conscious travelers seeking a sensory, reflective experience in nature.
