Johanna Maggy with the “Let’s Green” project
Among the Brenta Dolomites and the valleys of the Adamello-Brenta Nature Park with Johanna Maggy, Green Ambassador for Let’s Green.
Silence, broken only by the sounds of nature. Time, slow and steady. Each measure kind and careful. And all the while putting one step in front of the other, towards an understanding that now gives us a reason to live among and believe in mountains that unite, share and inspire.
“The mountains are not only snow and cliffs, ridges, streams, lakes, pastures. The mountains are a way of life. One step in front of the other, silence, time and measure.” Paolo Cognetti
With these words, Johanna Maggy - holistic health coach, pilates teacher and Icelandic writer, speaker for the values for the values that guide a conscientious lifestyle - opens her story of her visit to Madonna di Campiglio as a Green Ambassador spreading the Let’s Green Manifesto. The project, promoted by the Madonna di Campiglio Tourist Board and the Adamello-Brenta Nature Park, is intended as a call to action summoning us all to protect and safeguard the mountains, nature, and the planet. Sensitively, consciously, responsibly. This is the origin of the Mindful Mountain concept, a vivid and sincere depiction of the places, actions and people that have come together for a higher goal, one which unites us all. After all, the motto of the Let’s Green project is “No Time to Waste”. Earth’s future is in our hands, and it’s up to us to make a difference. Which brings us to Johanna, here among the cattle at pasture on a meadow by a waterfall, breathing in its freshness and force, looking up at the sky above the Dolomites and chattering with local lodge managers, who are happy to tell their stories and ask the question, “How can people live anywhere but here among these natural wonders?”
Let’s Green – mindful mountain: when the mountains become an ambassador for values as lofty as its peaks, as open as the vast expanses of nature, and as generous as the people who make them their home.
