One of the most classic, spectacular and challenging equipped paths of the Brenta Dolomites. High altitude itinerary for experienced and trained climbers among ridges and ledges at 3000 meters.
The Bocchette Alte via Ferrata is a challenging and highly rewarding itinerary; its alpine characteristics, length, technical difficulties and exposure make it suitable only for climbers used to vertical rocky routes, with good preparation, training and no fear of heights.
Difficult and demanding, the path, equipped with fixed ropes and metal ladders, leads along narrow ledges and exposed and airy passages in the rocky heart of the Brenta between breathtaking natural scenes and panoramas of indescribable beauty.
Completing the via ferrata takes between 6 and 8 hours but, when calculating total time, it is necessary to consider the long approach and return (another 4-6 hours).
From Bocca dei Massodi it is possible to follow the Olivia Detassis O396 via ferrata, often done in combination with the Alte. The itinerary can also be done in the opposite direction, from Rif. Alimonta to Bocca del Tuckett, and should be tackled in stable weather conditions, preferably without ice.
Possibility of ice and snow in some sections at the start of the season. Pay attention to hut closing dates. It is advisable to split the itinerary over two days.
