Beautiful route with breathtaking views and an unprecedented view of the Brenta, the peaks of the Adamello, Presanella, Carè Alto, and the valleys below.
The medium difficulty route, doable in half a day, winds on the slopes of Mount Durmont extending into the wild Val di Manez. The route, if done clockwise, starts with an uphill stretch in the conifer forest that gently leads from the parking next to Capanna Durmont to the "Dotor" locality. A stop is mandatory to admire the panorama opening onto the mountains of Tione and the summit of Carè Alto. The route then leads to "Stavel" locality, a green clearing where it is possible to rest before taking the uphill path that climbs through the forest until reaching the summit cross of Cima Durmont. From here a second very panoramic path section, initially flat and then descending, leads to the "Campiol" locality where it is possible to take a break on a comfortable bench in the middle of a basin. The trail then continues downward to the junction where you take the path to "Stablei" returning, thanks to a flat stretch in the woods, to the farmsteads of "Pramarciù". From here take the outbound path until reaching Capanna Durmont.
Medium difficulty walk, highly appreciated for the fantastic panorama ranging from Carè Alto to Presanella to the Brenta Dolomites. The summit, located at the southwestern end of the Brenta Group, is reachable by a path almost entirely through the forest, which in the last stretch is a bit uneven and rather exposed. It is worth undertaking the route in spring or autumn when the forest is dyed in a thousand colors.
It is recommended to bring water and, given the length and exposure of the route, to start early in the morning.
