This family-friendly uphill route begins in a narrow, green valley, and reaches a high-altitude granite groove lying on an ice lung.
A demanding hike in terms of length and altitude difference, which requires physical fitness. Starting from the forest road towards Malga Trivena, the route follows a wide trail to the Pian di Redont, dominated by a natural amphitheatre with three large waterfalls. From here, the trail becomes narrow and steep in the Valle del Vescovo, until it rises above 2500 m, where it becomes almost flat on granite slabs to the Porte di Danerba, with remains from the Great War including a granite fort, a cave and a cannon.
If you have the Via delle Valli credential - available at the tourist offices or downloadable to your phone - you can get the Val di Trivena and Val del Vescovo stamps at Pian de Redont and Porte di Danerba, thus continuing your discovery of the 50 valleys of the route.
